Less Cumberbatch in Star Trek Into Darkness Teaser

That's a sad title to write, to be honest. With the first teaser and trailer (not to mention the nine minute prologue) featuring the decalescent voice of the Sherlock star, I was expecting full-on Cumberbaction. However, this teaser was rather devoid of his character, supposedly named John Harrison. Rather, it focused much more on Kirk and even had some nice Christopher Pike moments. Video after the break.

The teaser begins with some footage that we've already seen, which includes Dr. "Bones" McCoy (Karl Urban) and Kirk (Chris Pine) running from the Nibiru natives. It cuts from scene to scene of other Enterprise crew members, with a conversation between Pike and Kirk in between.
Because J.J., Benny, and all parties concerned have been so tight-lipped about Cumberbatch's role, all my questions are still unanswered. The great thing, however, about this trailer, is that what we saw was brand new footage of the so-called Harrison. There were also a couple new lines from Mr. Spock.
Time will tell what Cumberbatch's role truly is in Into Darkness. I jumped on the Khan Train super early, but I'll be pleasantly surprised to see what it is, no matter what.
Don't forget that Joseph Gatt, who also has an undisclosed role in STID, will be at Lexington Comic and Toy Convention THIS WEEKEND! Check the #LCTC2013 hashatag on Twitter for real-time updates! Make plans to attend "The Culture of Pop" a collaborative panel by me (Kentucky Geek Girl) and the fabulous foursome who make up Beaucoup Pop!
