Crafty Geeks: Pixel Perfect Bead Sprites

The thing I like about being a geek is that I have varied interests, eclectic tastes, you might say. It's nice to know that there are other folks out there in the geek community that are also eclectic in nature. From Buffy to Battlestar Gallactica, these geeks are not only interested in books and movies, but being crafty as well. In this spotlight, I will feature some of my favorite crafty geeks and their trades.

Pixel Perfect Bead Sprites is a new business that brings some of your favorite characters from movies, video games, and comic books and gives them an 8-bit effect. These small pieces of artwork are created by taking Pearler beads and putting them onto a small pegged frame. Jeremy takes many different colors of beads to create his designs and when the design is finished, he uses an iron to fuse the beads together to create a lasting, finished piece.

The finished bead sprites are durable and can be used to create any manner of items such as magnets, pins, or home decor, just to name a few. Pixel Perfect's sprites aren't just movies or video games. Jenna, who just happens to be one of my very best friends, has created sprites related to The Beatles including their apple logo. They also take requests.

The sprites are affordable and are made with a lot of love and geekery. There is only the facebook page now, but hopefully Jeremy and Jenna will get set up on Etsy or Twitter soon so they can join the geek community over there. I look forward to more of their creations!

For questions on inventory or prices you can email Jeremy or like their Facebook page!
