While I'm not currently playing World of Warcraft on a regular basis, I like to keep up-to-date on WoW news. I do this by watching Gamebreaker.tv's Legendary and following WoW Insider. I played a bit on the Public Test Realm this past week and did a few of the Patch 4.2 pre-quests. There are definitely a lot of changes coming to WoW with Patch 4.2, but this First Impressions Friday is all about the patch trailer.
Blizzard has a history of releasing trailers for the content patches that are released for World of Warcraft. With these trailers, they are able to showcase the content as well as give an insight into lore and a bit of the dramatic. The latest trailer features Thrall, former Warchief of the Horde, and uber-shaman as he attempts to commune with the elements in an effort to restore balance. In the midst of his communion, Ragnaros the Firelord emerges to deliver a threat, or a promise, that the world will be engulfed in fire.
I thought the trailer was very well done. Not only do you get to experience Thrall's tie to the elements, but you get to see a bit of the relationship between him and Aggra. Apparently they are mates now. Now, I don't know what Jaina Proudmoore's going to think of this, but I think that could be a trailer unto itself. Jerry Springer: Azeroth Edition. I can see it now, Aggra vs Jaina. Mage vs Shaman. Epicccc.
What did you think of the Patch 4.2 trailer?
