FUNimation Teases 'Mass Effect' Prequel Anime

Mass Effect: Paragon Lost is a feature-length animated film which will serve as a prequel for the newly released video game Mass Effect 3. The film is in development from ProductionIG, the internationally renowned animation company behind Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. FUNimation will distribute the film and a video of concept art was recently posted on the company's YouTube channel.

From FUNimation:
Mass Effect: Paragon Lost is the prequel to the highly-anticipated Mass Effect 3 and follows the early career of Alliance Marine, James Vega. Vega leads an elite Special Forces squad into battle against a mysterious alien threat known as The Collectors. Stationed at a colony in a remote star system, Vega and his soldiers must protect the civilians from a ruthless invasion determined to capture the population for unknown purposes. Learn more about the Mass Effect universe with an unprecedented glimpse into the haunted past of Mass Effect's newest hero!
Be sure to check out the latest news on the BioWare blog and the new Mass Effect: Paragon Lost website.

Do you think that someone (like myself) who hasn't played any of the Mass Effect franchise would enjoy this?

Shadowy New Trailer for Game of Thrones Season 2 is Released

You can find this post at Word of the Nerd.

With just over two months until the season premier of Game of Thrones Season 2, fans are chomping at the bit to get another glimpse at the series. A few days ago, HBO released a "Notes From the Set" video highlighting the filming locations and set design of the latest season of Game of Thrones.  A new teaser for the second season, which is based on the second book of George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, was posted tonight on the Game of Thrones Facebook page.

Lord Varys tells Tyrion Lannister that "A very small man can cast a very large shadow," as we see bits and pieces of what is to come in Season 2. Like all good teasers, however, it doesn't reveal too much information. I haven't finished "A Clash of Kings", but I have a feeling that this season we'll see a heroic side of Tyrion, who is portrayed by the award-winning Peter Dinklage. Daenerys Targaryen is sure to make a fiery arrival in Westeros.

Game of Thrones makes its return to HBO on April 1. Until then, enjoy the Game of Thrones comic!

"Game of Thrones" Season 2 teaser

The cold winds are rising... what does it mean? Has winter arrived? What about those Whitewalkers? Oh and what's this about Stannis Baratheon? Will Joffrey get the crap kicked out of his stupid face? Oh and what of Arya? SO MANY QUESTIONS. SO MANY MANY QUESTIONS!

Are you a Thronie? What did you think of the trailer? Are you SO FREAKING HYPED for April?!
