Trailer Tuesday: Kingsman: The Secret Service

This post Memorial Day weekend pitted Maleficent and A Million Ways to Die in the West against one another in a box office grudge match. However, X-Men: Days of Future Past was able to hold on to the Number 2 slot for the weekend box office and knock the Seth MacFarlane comedy to Number 3. I'm going to be honest, I'm not terribly impressed with the offerings for the rest of the summer. I'll see Transformers: Age of Extinction since I saw the other three films in the theater and really the summer is all about getting to August to see Guardians of the Galaxy. In between, there's really not to offer me at this point. This week's Trailer Tuesday feature is for a film that comes out even later in the year, October, to be specific.

Trailer Tuesday 10/29

Gravity ruled the box office for several weeks since the last Trailer Tuesday. The Fifth Estate quickly tanked, though its star garnered much acclaim. Honestly, I had no intention of seeing it, even for Benedict Cumberbatch. I am excited, however, to see him in Twelve Years a Slave and August: Osage County, the latter I believe might be my family's Christmas movie now that Monuments Men has been moved to February. And, of course, I'm waiting patiently for The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. This pretty much is the year of Cumberbatch and I'm perfectly okay with that.

Stuff That Doesn't Suck 12

Stuff That Doesn’t Suck is a meme where I graciously share with you the things that I come across in a week that do not suck. This includes a variety of things from books to music to YouTube and even more. Feel free to join in on the comments or on your own blog.

It's been a busy last couple of weeks for me with starting graduate school. I'm going to try and keep everything running smoothly on Kentucky Geek Girl, but there may be a decrease in my presence over the next few weeks while I'm working on getting into the groove of everything. For now, though, let's take a look at some things that didn't suck this week!

TheWarpZone releases full length X-Men Lady Gaga Parody

Last month, Ryan from TheWarpZone donned his Magneto costume all in the name of Lady Gaga and it was included in Stuff That Doesn't Suck. A full length parody is up on TheWarpZone's youtube channel featuring more of our favorite mutants in all their glory.

Who's your favorite member of the X-Men? I have a few that I really like, but I have to say that my overall favorite is Wolverine. I bought a print of him in his yellow suit at Derby City Comic Con this past weekend from the very talented Terry Huddleston. It rocks!

Leave a message in the comments and let me know who your favorite mutant is!

Stuff That Doesn't Suck (6)

Gamer Food Blog That Doesn't Suck
Now that I'm not playing World of Warcraft, I've been trying to increase my IRL skill in cooking. You see, my main character Aleksondra, was an Illustrious Grand Master and earned the Chef title. Actually, I earned Chef during Wrath of the Lich King. Back then, her name was Katryona and I had an in game business called Katryona's Kitchen. But, I digress.

Even if you're not playing World of Warcraft, you can cook some of the coolest foods from the game thanks to The Gamer's Fridge. I like this blog because not only does it feature some of my favorite foods from Azeroth, Frostberries just sound like the most delicious late night snack, but the recipes that they offer are easy to follow and great for those even with an Apprentice cooking skill. The Gamer's Fridge also includes food from Final Fantasy and Lord of the Rings Online. One of my personal favorites in WoW is Kaldorei Spider Kabob. Just in case spider meat is scarce, they've provided an alternative which uses beef tips.

There are over 150 recipes in World of Warcraft and I can't wait for them to feature them all! Delicious Chocolate Cake is also quite amazing and definitely proves that...
