Fountain Films on Friday Begins This Week

Triangle Park, located at Main, Broadway, and Vine Streets, has been newly renovated and can now accomodate a great deal of outdoor activities. This winter, an ice skating rink was set up for people to enjoy Lexington in wintry months (even though we didn't have much of a winter at all here in Central Kentucky.) This summer, an inaugural film series will be held in Triangle Park every Friday. Fountain Films on Friday is sponsored by the Downtown Lexington Corporation and will continue every week through Friday, August 24. Schedule after the break!
May 18, 2012 - Pretty in Pink

June 1, 2012- Breaking Away
June 15, 2012 - Dirty Dancing
June 29, 2012 - 1776
July 13, 2012 - Sahara
July 27, 2012 - Chocolat
August 24, 2012 - Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Movies begin at dusk and will follow live music at Triangle Park. All movies are free and there will be refreshments available for purchase from the Main Cross Cafe located in Triangle Park. Parking is available in several downtown parking garages, but the DLC is not responsible for parking and alcohol is not permitted in Triangle Park. Sponsors for Fountain Films on Friday include Hilliard Lyons, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Raisin' Canes, and Kentucky Utilities. For more information about this event, you can visit the Downtown Lexington Corporation website. Information about rain delays and other news will be available on the DLC Facebook and Twitter accounts.

What movie are you looking forward to? I was just saying that 1776 would be a good film for the Kentucky Theatre to show on July 4, so it's great that it'll be shown the weekend before. I'm definitely there for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom!
