ReCONnaissance: Tri-State Comic-Con 2013

Back in April, I attended my first convention close to my hometown of Flatwoods, Kentucky. Tri-State Comic-Con (henceforth known as Trion) was held on April 6 at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in beautiful Huntington, WV. The first convention of its kind in the Tri-State area that I know of, it was a well attended and well managed event which was a definite crowd-pleaser.

Movie Review: The Internship

Let me begin by saying that I was quite apprehensive about this movie. I'm not generally a fan of this kind of goofball humor, The Hangover and 21 and Over (which I reviewed earlier this year) being the exception. I've enjoyed movies like Not Another Teen Movie and the original Scary Movie, which parodied their respective genera, but no movies like Wedding Crashers or Old School have ever really jumped out at me. So, when the opportunity to see The Internship presented itself this week, I went in with a great deal of timidity.

Armchair BEA: Introduce Yourself

Even though I work this week and things will be pretty hectic, I'm going to try my darnedest to participate in Armchair BEA as much as possible. This week is Book Expo America in New York City and while I'd love to be there, my wings are clipped as far as traveling a great distance for convention. Through the wonderment that is Armchair BEA, bloggers can still participate in discussions as if they are live in person!

For day one, I'll be answering a few questions posed by Armchair BEA admins.

Hi, I'm Natasha, founder of Kentucky Geek Girl!
